Unfortunately for laptops, the Flashrom project people recommend not to use flashrom, due to poor support. If it is a laptop and unless you have means to recover if something goes wrong, I suggest asking on the Flashrom mailing lists whether they think it&#8217;s safe. On the other hand, if I&#8217;m mistaken and it&#8217;s a regular desktop PC, you should be okay in my experience.
