Sun Opens Java
Today in a historic move, Sun is opening the door to greater innovation by open sourcing key Java implementations—Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE), Java Platform Micro Edition (Java ME), and Java Platform Enterprise Edition (Java EE)—under the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2), the same license as GNU/Linux. Sun is now the biggest contributor to the open-source community.

Suomalaiset puolueet eivät osaa hyödyntää Internetiä
Suomalaiset puolueet ja poliitikot eivät Åbo Akademissa tehdyn väitöstutkimuksen mukaan hyödynnä Internetin mahdollisuuksia uusien äänestäjien houkuttelemiseen.
Puolueet eivät hallitse Internetin vuorovaikutteisuutta, vaan paperiaineisto siirretään yleensä verkkoon sellaisenaan, ja ainoaksi palautekanavaksi jää sähköpostiosoite.
Tutkimuksessa seurattuja keskustelupalstoja poliitikot käyttivät omien näkemystensä toitotukseen eikä muiden näkemyksiä kuunneltu. Lopulta foorumit suljettiin kokonaan, koska puolueet eivät halunneet tulla arvostelluiksi omilla sivuillaan.

YouTube ratkaisi Yhdysvaltain poliittisen suunnanmuutoksen. Videobloggarin nauhoittama macaca-nimittely ratkaisi Virginian osavaltion senaattorin paikan demokraateille ja samalla antoi heille 51. paikan satapaikkaisessa senaatissa.
