Audio through DVI is a hack, but it used to work until I upgraded from Lucid to Precise; afterwards there was no sound from the monitor. This is <a href=\"https:\/\/bugs.launchpad.net\/ubuntu\/+source\/alsa-driver\/+bug\/864735\">a regression introduced in Oneiric<\/a>, due to the <a href=\"http:\/\/phoronix.com\/forums\/showthread.php?62635-No-HDMI-sound-after-upgrade-to-Kubuntu-11.10-with-my-hd4770&amp;p=232613#post232613\">reverse engineered<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/phoronix.com\/forums\/showthread.php?62635-No-HDMI-sound-after-upgrade-to-Kubuntu-11.10-with-my-hd4770&amp;p=232499#post232499\">Radeon code causing issues in some setups<\/a>.
