----------------------------------- README for AVerMedia WDM Driver July. 2001 ----------------------------------- =============================================================== NOTE: When you install this WDM driver, you need to input "Product-Key." If you don't have Product-Key, you may set channel in-correctly while running application. =============================================================== This readme shows you how to install WDM driver for your TV card. There are three cases to install WDM driver. Please refer to the following instructions to install WDM driver. If you have any problem about installing WDM driver, please visit our web site at http://www.aver.com.tw to find a solution or just e-mail to AVerMedia Technical Support: support@avermedia.com.tw. =============================================================== (A) If you want to switch your current VxD Driver to WDM Driver, the following shows you how to do that: ============================================================== 1. Remove Vxd Driver. In Device Manager, select "AVerMedia TV Series Device-- Audio Section" and "AVerMedia TV Series Device--Video Section" devices, then delete both of them. 2. In c:\windows\inf\others directory, you will find the "AVerMediaTVFleeta.inf" and "AVerMediaTVFleetv.inf" files. Please delete them. 3. Restart computer. The wizard will find new devices, follow up the wizard instuctions to install new driver. Note that you should indicate new drivers' location to the wizard. 4. After the installation of drivers is completed, you will see the device names: "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Audio Capture", "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Video Capture", "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM TvTuner", and "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Crossbar". If you see the above device names, you have succeeded the installation of divers. ======================================================== (B) If you had not installed any video capture driver for your TV card, do the following steps to install your new WDM driver. ======================================================== 1. In Control Panel, double click Add/Remove Hardware icon. Then "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard" will show up. 2. Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device" item, and then click "Next" button. 3. In "Choose a Hardware Device" dialog, select "Multimedia Video Controller" device. Then click "Next" button. 4. Click "Finish" to Close "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard." 5. Then "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" will show up and follow wizard to install drivers. 6. After installed "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Video Capture", "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM TvTuner", and "AVerMedia, AVerTV Crossbar" driver. Then again go to control panel and open "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard." 7. Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device" item, and then click "Next" button. 8. In "Choose a Hardware Device" dialog, select "Multimedia Controller" device. Then click Next button. 9. Click "Finish" to Close "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard." 10. Then "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" will show up and follow wizard to install "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Audio Capture" driver. =================================================================== (C) If you have already installed WDM driver on Windows 2000 Professional, the following shows you how to upgrade driver: =================================================================== 1. In device manager, double-click "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers." 2. Click "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Video Capture," right-click the device, and then click Properties. 3. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver to open the Update Device Driver wizard. 4. Click "Next." 5. Click "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" radio button. 6. On "Select a Device Driver" dialog, click "Have Disk..." button. 7. Browse to find "bt878.inf" which be download from web-site. 9. On Select a Device Driver dialog, click "AVerMedia, AVerTV WDM Video Capture" and then click "Next" button. 10. Click "Yes" to install new driver. 11. Click "Next" to start install new driver. 12. Click "Finish." 13. Restart computer.
