Pointing My Documents to profile root

I prefer that the My Documents link on Windows desktop opens my home directory (%USERPROFILE% or C:\Documents and Settings\Logon Id), since I have very little use for the actual documents folder, and instead make heavy use of other folders inside %USERPROFILE%, especially Application Data.

Stripping \My Documents (or \Omat tiedostot in the Finnish version) from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal, then logging out and back in does the trick.

Livejournal

Now that is just… I don’t know, stupid is far too mild a word to describe this idiocy in my opinion. This is bordering on Finnish state bureaucracy -stupid.

I too would like to go to LiveJournal and tell them which OpenID I want to have associated with my journal so that I can log in with it, but nooh… that would be just too simple and elegant, wouldn’t it?
