Scientists spice up their anti-mosquito weaponry with mustard
Of the four seed meal types, garden cress proved the most lethal, killing more than 95 percent of mosquito larvae after only 24 hours and 100 percent in less than 48 hours. All seed meals were toxic to the larvae, except for a pennycress treatment that had been heated.

In summary, our genetic analysis suggests the psychostimulant effects of caffeine outweighs the bitterness of caffeine. A greater preference for caffeine based on genetic differences in the physiological effects of caffeine leads to a stronger preference for the taste/smell of coffee and dark chocolate. Similarly, greater sensitivity to the adverse physiological effects of caffeine was associated with avoiding the taste of coffee.

The first true millipede: new species with more than 1,000 legs discovered in Western Australia
The species, which is the first “true” millipede, has 1,306 legs and was found up to 60 metres underground in a mining area in the Eastern Goldfields region of WA. […] It breaks the previous record set by Illacme plenipes, which is found in central California and has up to 750 legs.
