I cannot exactly say it was like being there, but considering that I'm not likely to visit the place any time soon, the "experience" is a vast improvement over traditional video.

I'm hoping an intrepid photographer or two will capture evidence. I guarantee you that if I lived down in Australia, you could count on me to devote a few weekends to the effort. I'm sure some Australian photographer will be on top of this in no time at all, but STAY SAFE! those wildfires can be very dangerous and unpredictable, perhaps due to our feathered friends.
